Credit Repair

As a true credit repair specialist, Debt Free League is committed to make you more creditworthy. Bonded and registered with the California Department of Justice as a Credit Services Organization, our credit repair company has the ‘know-how’ to help you fix credit problems, remove bad credit, clean up credit reports, delete derogatory credit, boost credit scores, and build good credit.

We value the importance of good credit. Your credit report is the primary source lenders rely on to see if you can handle an added financial obligation. Information on your consumer credit reports is bought and sold each day by the three major credit bureaus – Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union. Sadly, information on your payment history, personal information, and public records including bankruptcies, judgments and tax liens, is oftentimes inaccurately reported. According to a study by the National Association of State Public Interest Research Group, “79 percent of all credit reports surveyed contain some type of error”.

Fair Credit Reporting Act ensures credit reporting accuracy

Just one error on your credit report can cause you to be denied for car loans, mortgage loans or employment or to pay thousands more on loans due to exorbitant interest rates. But, Debt Free League uses credit reporting laws to help ensure you have an error-free credit report. One of these laws is the Fair Credit Reporting Act ‘FCRA’. This federal law promotes the accuracy, fairness, and privacy of information in your consumer credit files.

Applying the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws on behalf of our customers, we police credit bureaus to ensure their acting according to the law in reporting 100% accurate, complete and verifiable information about your character and reputation. If necessary, we can also dispute directly with the actual creditors or credit data furnishers.

Superior Credit Restoration Results

Debt Free League customers have successfully removed a variety of derogatory items from their credit reports, including:

● Late payments
● Bankruptcies
● Collection accounts
● Vehicle repossessions
● Foreclosures
● Hard Inquiries
● Lawsuits
● Judgments
● Tax Liens

Our ultimate goal is to improve your credit reports so you benefit from a superior credit rating that can allow you to obtain the best loans and most favorable interest rates!

Our Effective Dispute Process

Trying to personally fix credit report errors can be very challenging, time-consuming and unproductive. According to a report by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB):

● Credit bureaus pass on 85 percent of consumer disputes to the actual creditor or data furnisher to investigate and resolve.

● 40% of all disputes are related to a collection account. (Note: Negative credit reporting is a primary debt collection tool for most collection agencies.)

● Credit bureaus rarely pass on documents that consumers submitted as evidence of their dispute; in the majority of cases, they compress a consumer's dispute into a preset code that describes the dispute and submit the code to creditors through an electronic portal called e-Oscar.

Debt Free League understands the common reporting practices and violations of the major credit bureaus, and upon hiring us, we will demand each credit bureau to follow the law and maintain "accuracy and completeness" in your credit reports.

We will dispute inaccurate, unverifiable, untimely, unclear, ambiguous or incomplete negative information, which must be corrected or deleted from your credit file. After receiving your dispute, the credit bureau must complete a ‘reasonable’ investigation to verify the validity of the information and must contact the actual creditor or data furnisher, who is also required to investigate. If the credit bureau cannot verify the information or complete an investigation typically within 30 days, the disputed information must be removed.

The credit bureau must also send you a revised credit report (“reinvestigation report”) showing that the disputed credit item was removed or updated. If a credit bureau violates any provision of the Fair Credit Reporting Act or other federal or state credit reporting law, you may be able to sue the violator in court and win statutory damages.
